British actress Sophie Turner has enjoyed quite the meteoric rise to global superstardom, thanks to her role as Sansa Stark in the hit HBO fantasy drama series Game of Thrones. Now, Sophie takes on the role of Jean Grey in the X-Men movies and she has opened up about working alongside Jennifer Lawrence, revealing a rather interesting way of bonding with the star.
Turner explained, "She punched me in the vagina once. I didn’t ask her to either. It just happened. (Co-star) Evan (Peters) and I were having a fake fight and I said something like, 'I’ll c**t punch you' or 'I’ll punch you in the crotch' and then Jen thought that I said, 'Please c**t punch me, Jen', so she punched me in the vagina and I was like, 'Awesome!' It was pretty funny."
Despite the rather unique way of coming closer to one another, and getting punched in the genitals by her co-star, Sophie Turner was still full of praise for Jennifer Lawrence. Sophie says that it was a pleasure to get to work with the star and that Jennifer is exactly how you would expect her to be.
Turner added, "She is definitely a big inspiration to work with and she is just how you’d want Jennifer Lawrence to be. She’s exactly the same person that you see in interviews. And she was just amazing. She was really fun, really cool. Hilarious!"
We will get to see Sophie Turner making her debut as Jean Grey in X-Men: Apocalypse, which is set to hit the big screen on May 18 in the UK, before then opening in the US on May 27.
