April Fools Day took place earlier this week and the day is supposed to be one of fun and tomfoolery, making others laugh and enjoying a few enjoyable pranks. However, some people can often take things too far and, instead of the day being fun it turns into one of hurtfulness and hatred. This is exactly what happened on April Fools Day this year, as someone decided to start a Zayn Malik death prank.
What this person failed to recognise was the fact that One Direction fans are not to be messed with and they certainly did not take well to the Zayn Malik death prank. The rumour that Zayn Malik had died spread on Twitter in no time at all, with the hashtag #ripzaynmalik soon trending on the social networking site.
One Direction fans soon hit back at the disgusting prank, taking to their own Twitter accounts to show their disapproval. One angered fan said, "Whoever started #ripzaynmalik is a horrible person who should be ashamed of themselves. It is not funny or cool it is just stupid and you need to grow up." Meanwhile another One Direction fan added, "#ripzaynmalik REALLY?!?! you people are sick."
Zayn Malik made the decision not to comment on any of the tweets surrounding his fake death, which was probably a good choice, as it would only play into the hands of those who started the rumour. Zayn is not the first person to fall victim to a death hoax and we have no doubt that he will not be the last either.
