There are some people who feel that Hollywood is losing its originality, as it continues to bring us remakes, reboots, prequels and sequels, with plenty planned for the next few years. One of the hit Hollywood movie franchises that is making a return to the big screen, is the Alien movie franchise, which is moving on from the movie Prometheus to bring us the next instalment Alien Covenant.
Alien: Covenant brings us some returning members of the Prometheus cast, with Michael Fassbender and Noomi Rapace both reprising their roles for the new film, while actress Katherine Waterston has also joined the cast of the movie. Alien: Covenant is currently in the pre-production stage, with the cast and crew all preparing for the project to start filming this year.
We have already heard plenty about Alien: Covenant but, for those of you wanting more information, it has been officially described as, "Bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, the crew of the colony ship Covenant discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world -- whose sole inhabitant is the "synthetic" David (Michael Fassbender), survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition."
We already know that Michael Fassbender, Katherine Waterston, and Noomi Rapace are all going to appear in Alien: Covenant and we expect that we will get some more casting news very soon, as we get ever closer to production getting underway. Alien: Covenant will be directed by Ridley Scott and is aiming for an October 6, 2017 release date in the US. We look forward to it.
