It seems that Marvel have constantly had a problem with bringing a standalone Hulk movie to the big screen that manages to give the fans what they want. We have had two standalone Hulk movies in recent years but both we slated by the fans and the critics. Fortunately there is still hope for a standalone Hulk movie in the future.
Hollywood star Mark Ruffalo played the role of Bruce Banner aka The Hulk in the Marvel movie The Avengers and Mark did such a good job in the role that the fans have been calling for a new standalone Hulk movie to be made. Marvel currently have a lot of characters coming to the big screen over the next few years but a Hulk movie could certainly be added to the list.
With the idea of a Hulk standalone movie in mind, Mark Ruffalo has spoken about what he would like to see from the film, admitting that he would get more of an input than he did on The Avengers. Mark says that he would love to have more of a science element to the film, educating the viewers as well as entertaining them.
Ruffalo explained, "As artists we have an ability to reach a lot of people in a deep way, and we have a responsibility. What we have to do as storytellers is to take science and make it relatable. I think we have to tell the story of the positive and what we're going to try to do. Give them alternatives but don't make it a polemic."
He added, "I'm in The Avengers, but if you took my screentime it would come to about ten minutes, along with the 12 other people I'm sharing the screen with, so my input's kind of limited on that. But if we get to a standalone Hulk movie, I'll have a much better chance to do that. I'm just learning now how to find my voice and bring it into the studio world. "
Before Mark Ruffalo can even begin thinking about a standalone Hulk movie, he will first have to deal with The Avengers: Age of Ultron, which is when we will next see him as Bruce Banner and the Hulk. The Avengers: Age of Ultron will hit he big screen on May 1, 2015 in both the US and the UK.
