OK. So you might not be too surprised to hear that Lindsey Vonn is not attending the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, since she is a skier in the Winter Olympics and these are the Summer Olympics. However, since Lindsey is such a big name star, she was expected to head to Brazil for some other work projects in association with the Olympic Games.

It was expected that Lindsey Vonn would appear in Rio, where she would take part in some television coverage of the Olympic Games, while she would also use the opportunity to advertise Under Armor, and Reese's Peanut Butter Cups. However, following a string of high-profile stars choosing not to compete at the Olympics due to health fears, Lindsey has decided she will also not go to Brazil.
Vonn was chatting to people.com, when she told them, "I think with the Zika and everything, it's probably just better that I watch from home. Definitely some sports are more at risk than others, but for the most part, all the Olympians are pretty excited about Rio, despite everything."

She added, "I think they're doing the best job they can to keep it safe for everyone, and I think it's going to be fine. (If it were me) I think I would still go, but that would definitely be in the back of my mind throughout the entire two weeks of the games. It's definitely tough for the athletes, for sure."
The biggest Olympic event to be hit by the withdrawal of top stars would have to be golf, which is returning to the Olympic Games after over 100 years. Top players including Rory McIlroy and Jordan Spieth have already pulled out and it will be interesting to see what other top stars across the rest of the events decide not to go.
