Christina Hendricks' big year is about to begin and the questions are starting to emerge about her move to the big screen. One question that has become a topic of conversation about the beautiful voluptuous redhead is whether she will be able to duplicate or exceed the success she had as the scene stealing Joan Harris on the hit television show "Mad Men"?

In 2014 she appeared in the movie "Lost River" which gave some fans a taste of her in a role outside of the "Mad Men" role which made her a Hollywood star and the reviews were positive.
However, a better assessment in the view of some entertainment observers about her performance might have been received recently with the announcement that she will be one of the lead actors in the horror-thriller movie "The Neon Demon".

The decision-making team that chose whom would be part of this Nicolas Winding Refn film would likely have taken a very close look at her performances in "Mad Men", the movie "God's Pocket" and the movie "Lost River" to see if they felt she could be good in the movie which includes a stellar cast consisting of actors Keanu Reeves, Jena Malone, Bella Heathcote and Abbey Lee and they decided (smartly) to select her.
For many of her fans and some entertainment observers the announcement is a bit of affirmation that Christina Hendricks is an actress whose acting range enables her to thrive in a variety of roles and she is not someone who can be defined solely by her attractive physique.
Christina Hendricks made the role of "Mad Men's" Joan Harris 'special' because of the presence she showed in playing the character. Often when she was in a scene she dominated the scene with the timing and tone of her dialogue and the fact that she is still being pursued for roles in big box office films such as "The Neon Demon" has some entertainment observers believing that the best of Christina Hendricks has not yet been seen and that she will be phenomenal on the big screen.
"Mad Men" was a great start for Christina Hendricks but she is an actress who with her sensational acting range and gorgeous figure has the potential to make her a major big screen Hollywood star who might just make fans forget her Joan Harris character.
