There has been a lot of talk about the sexism in Hollywood issue recently and Hollywood superstar Jennifer Lawrence was one of the stars to make a big statement about the problem, recently penning an essay about it. Now, her good friend Amy Schumer has spoken out on the matter and Amy was full of praise for what Jennifer did and had to say.
Schumer explained, "First of all she's the best, and I'm so proud of her. I thought that was so bada**. I, of course, support wage equality and all equality, but if we just raise the minimum wage...that would take care of everybody. We need to focus all our energy on raising each other up and just living to our full potential because if we don't do it--the women in this room--if we don't do it, then who will?"
While it is clear to see that Amy Schumer has the same opinion as many other of the Hollywood stars, when it comes to the equal pay issue in Hollywood, she also went on to talk about her own personal struggles in the industry. Amy revealed how she has had a number of death threats over the years, joking that she has been overexposed in the industry.
Schumer was chatting at the 22nd Annual Elle Women in Hollywood Awards, when she added, "I've already gotten a lot of death threats for about eight years...The backlash has already started. I've been getting backlash since 2006. I've been getting death threats. I know everybody is sick of me and I need to be treated for overexposure."
Meanwhile, Jennifer Lawrence and Amy Schumer have recently been working together, as they are writing a screenplay with one another for a new movie project. We cannot wait to see what these two beautiful and talented women come up with.
